| The Federal Government provides monies for qualified families and individuals to receive a rent supplement. In the program, landlords must agree to allow Section 8 Subsidies to cover part of the cost of the rent they charge for the dwelling. The amount paid by the tenant and the amount subsidized depends on the financial circumstances of the tenant. The landlord, however, receives the same amount of rent each month direct from the state. This program benefits tenants and landlords alike. Applicants are screened for eligibility. Units are screened to ensure they are safe and sanitary housing. The application process for services requires that a person/family fall within certain income guidelines Any landlord who is interested in renting to an eligible Section 8 applicant should call our office or e-mail our Section 8 Specialist. We would be happy to send you a packet outlining landlord participation in Section 8. |
